You can of course have variety in the colour scheme between different
parts of a site. I do on mine, for instance. The difference is that in
my case it's applied on a section-by-section basis, and in a way that
was obviously intentional. Yours looks like a mistake, especially if
you try viewing the two versions with some links visited and others not.

"Map of Italy Italy" down the side of most pages.

True ... but it would still be a structure if you commented out these
links, or maybe marked them visibly as under construction. And by the
way, one of them (Swedish furniture) is missing the .html bit.

Most of the pages. Look:

8. You could make use of default index files. I.e. call the main page
within each folder index.html, making it quicker to access (if the
webserver's configured the way most are).
