sorting two result sets by common type field

Posted by Rob Shepherd on 10/03/05 17:10

Dear sql'ers

I have two tables for incoming and outgoing transactions

each has a date-time field.

How would I go about ordering a result set by date-time when selecting rows from
both tables.

I.e. I would like to produce an ordered list of transactions by date from both
tables without doing two queries and sorting the results externally.

Many thanks for any inspiration

Rob
