Good idea for experimenting but make sure you don't have a timed trial that may
expire unexpectedly. If you have the resources available to you, you could
download a working version of Unix/Linux (e.g. Red Hat, FreeBSD, etc.) and
install MySQL and PHP with probably the same amount of effort.
