I started with (O'Reilly www.oreilly.com) "Programming PHP" by R.
Lerdorf & K. Tatroe and that one helped a lot, but I needed later some
more training and have found "PHP Cookbook" by D. Sklar & A.
Trachtenberg (also O'Reilly) heplful too. And some other, but choice
depend on what are your plans in future.
