Yeah but without the right settings and construction it'll look like
shit. Before Flash 7/8 it couldn't be done at all with sites that had
split form images and then you also need to use:
this._quality = "best";
And for the video you need:
your.obj.smoothing = true;
And enlarged video usually doesn't work so good, which is why if you
use animated video segments you need to construct them without
backgrounds (ie alpha transparent video).

No, see above. If I used a solid background and then resized the
video it wouldn't look right against the other existing
background...unless you maxed out the quality settings, which would
lead to a rather huge increase in overall site size. Using alpha
transparent video allows you to save quite a bit on the overall site
size.

What if you wanted the logo to move around though? Like what if I
want to add in a transition effect? Or what if I wanted to have the
background change...like what if I wanted to have it change depending
on the time of day. So like if you viewed the site in the morning you
would see a sunrise and then midday you would see the current
background, then in the evening you would see a sunset and the at
night it would be a starry scene. The point is that through proper
construction you won't limit what you can do later on. Most competent
web and graphic designers will use layered PSD or PSP primer files in
case

Vector masking only works if you want FLAT video. By using
alpha-transparent video you can do a lot of neat 3D effects.
