You can put all sorts of characters in here, by using the hex code
However I wouldn't use CSS to generate important content like this, and
"£" is pretty important for changing the meaning of the amount!
(maybe not in the UK, but on a US site it would be). It's not supported
by IE and I'd be basically wary of relying on it anyway.
