My personal favorites are Xnews and Pegasus Mail for Windows, and slrn
or pan for Linux NNTP. I have no strong feelings about Linux email
clients: I use Kmail and sometime I will try mutt, which looks to be a
good thing. None of those are combo email/news clients, which I don't
care for; I'd rather use focused applications that do one thing very
well.
