You probably should not be too worried "for" mac IE users as
most of us on dying IE/Mac/OS9_orless (only very naive X users
would use it as they have available lots of fabulous choices)
very well know by now to use other browsers for anything that
does not work well in it...
But a shiver runs down my spine when you talk about adding
hacks... I like it (though I hardly use IE these days... see
note) when anything I make displays nicely on it. If it displays
well on it as well as all else without complicated trickery,
then this, to me at least, is more satisfying. I think for this
reason: if I do manage ever to do tricky things that work, I
feel like someone who has just, by the skin of their teeth,
pulled off something that is hard to repeat in different
circumstances, or one has to do juggling tricks all over again,
the tricks being probably not greatly transportable...
I will have to go and start up my fancy G4 to test your site in
Safari, I am sure it will be ok... I seem unable to leave this
7300 workhorse.

Note: It is different and better than the equivalent PC version,
(S.Pugh once pointed out that it was made by a team that half
knew what they were doing)
