Executive Summary: You are free to be an asshat.
No doubt true, but as is so often the case, just because you can do
something doesn't mean it's a good idea. For example, you can be an
asshat, but demonstrating some basic courtesy and respect for others is
apt to make many lives more pleasant, including your own.
