Try logging on using the administrator(s) account that left the
pending file operations then apply the fix.

| I am trying to install SQL Server 2000 on a Win2K OS machine but I
| get this error message:
|
| "A previous program installation created pending file operations on
| the installation machine. You must restart the computer before running
| setup."
|
| I see others have had this problem but have fixed it using the solution
| in:
|
| http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;312995
|
| I have tried the solution but to no avail. The registry key:
| HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
| Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations keeps reappearing as soon as I
| close RegEdit.
|
| Any ideas?
| Thanks,
