I have a problem in a datamart my team is developing. There is asplit in approach within the team, one side taking the approach of
having a huge Fact table (resulting in literally billions of rows of
data) and another team having a fairly flat model that will result in
less rows, but longer response time to execute the BI queries.

My question is this: At what point does a FACT table too large? At
what point is a model for Business Intelligence too unwieldy and that
a compromise be agreed to for response time vs load and completeness.

 Thanks,
