2000 Replication with DB in 65 Compatibility Mode

Posted by eroepe on 10/02/62 11:33

Hi,

Does anyone have experience in replicating between two servers running
2000 with a database in 65 compatibility mode?

Here's my situation. I'm setting up two servers. Server 1 is the
transaction server and Server 2 is the reporting server. Both servers
are running Win 2000 and SQL Server 2000. I have several databases to
setup transactional replication from the transaction server to the
reporting server. One of the databases on the transaction server is
running in 65 Compatibility Mode. The other databases are running in 80
mode.

I would like to setup replication now with the databases 'as-is' since
upgrading the 65 database is going to take a while. There is no RI or
Triggers in the database. All tables have Primary Keys.

>From reading many posts I understand that I need to put the database in
70 mode while I setup the replication. I would prefer not to do this if
at all possible.

Thanks for you're help,

Ed
