Carved in mystic runes upon the very living rock, the last words of
Gleep of comp.lang.php make plain:

Add a META refresh or JS refresh to all the pages. When the page refreshes,
refresh the session. The person can sit there as long as they like; if they
leave the site and don't log out, the session eventually expires.
