I have 2 books which teach smarty :
1) Advanced PHP Programming - A practical guide to developing
large-scale Web sites and applications with PHP5 by George Schlossnagle
-> Chapter 4.
2) Beginning PHP5 and MySQL E-Commerce From Novice to Professional by
Cristian Darie and Mihai Bucica
E-Commerce using smarty and i like it. it's a learning by doing book.
