Apache uses a module that will run the PHP code and send the result to the
apache server who serves it to the browser who requested it.

You would need a module for the simple server, I suggest you check their
documentation or contact their support for help.

Apache is quite easy to get to work, specially in *nix environment, if you
want a good server you should use Apache.

If you have a point and click thing, you usually get a crappy application that
is quite limited.
