Guys, there's a real dearth of open source applications (php, anyway)
oriented to the emergency services community of users. Like stuff for
911 centers, emergency medicine, fire, police, etc., etc. None I'm
aware of, anyway. These guys, especially in the smaller communities,
are underfunded, often staffed by volunteers, and the commercial app's
are expensive and of 'mixed' quality. They can use all of the help we
can provide by offering them suitable app's.
So, we've put together a sourceforge site devoted to filling this
vacuum. See us at http://openises.sourceforge.net
Guys, in my day job I'm retired, but I'm part way through building a
php/mySql-based Computer-Aided-Dispatch app to help fill part of the
void.
People, this as an invitation to contribute sorely needed app's in this
general area, and/or identify suitable existing candidates I may not be
aware of. Ideas, partly-completed stuff, etc., are all welcome.
Thanks, folks.
