Wow, I've no idea how you do that but it works. Great and many thanks.

While testing your code I figured out that '�' gets not sorted correctly.
With your code '�' is not handled as 'c'. With 'latin_german1_ci' in MySQL
'�' is handled as 'c'.

How do I have to add this "feature" to your posted code?
