I am working on a photo gallery. Photos are uploaded into the "originals"
directory.
They have random names given by the digital camera.
Is there a way to take every file in that directory (there are a couple
hundred) and rename it?

For instance I want this:

dscn4556.jpg
dscn 2237.jpg
dscn9885.jpg
1006234.jpg
2665344.jpg

to become:

1.jpg
2.jpg
3.jpg
4.jpg
5.jpg
