If you create the code from scratch without using licensed code (open
source or otherwise), then I believe you can pick your own license type
(open source, closed source, however you like it).
However, if you use code extracts from another open source licensed
project, then you'll have to release your own under open source as well.
IIRC, the only way to make money on an open source project, is to
charge for installation work and/or end-user support.
