Anybody know why the exact same browser but different machines displays content differently?

Posted by Geoff Coope on 03/24/06 17:47

Hi all

Got a strange problem. A client just got a new PC with IE6 SP2
pre-installed (6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519). When they visit
their website it shows a one pixel spacing issue on a sliced template. A
lower part of their logo has a thin white line through it (background
colour).

I checked the IE Browser version against my own and the version string is
exactly the same. I have tested the following options to see if I can
replicate the same problem that the client sees without success.

VIEW->TEXT SIZE
VIEW->ENCODING

DISPLAY PROPERTIES->APPEARANCE->LARGE FONTS

Anybody have any ideas what else could be causing this?

Thanks
Geoff
PS. I posted this question in the dreamweaver NG but got no response for a
few days so trying here instead. Forgive me if this is classed as cross
posting.
