thanks for your response...
I found a program called phpOCR that works great for converting strings
of numbers from image to text. it uses font files, but at this point it
only addresses 0-9 numerical characters. it seems the same principle
could be adapted to include other characters rather easily.. that is
the route I am eventually going to take, unless someone has already
done it..
but check out phpOCR, its a rather ingenious program, and works fairly
well for smaller string numerical characters.
