Did you use "&nbsp" (incorrect) or "&nbsp;" (correct)?
The style option is better for long lines. It can also be made a ruleset
and applied wherever you want it.

.nobr { white-space: nowrap; }
<span class="nobr">abc def ghi</span>
<h3 class="nobr">abc def ghi</h3>
