do compile your php with "--with-curl" ?
at windows maschine you need in your php.ini:
extension=php_curl.dll
my phpinfo at linux say:
CURL support: enabled
CURL Information: libcurl/7.15.1 OpenSSL/0.9.7h zlib/1.2.3
