that works pretty well - better than anything else I have tried. My
previous best attempt had a conditional which allowed it to with with "
or $ in the input, but not $ and " on same line. Now, it seems to work
OK with either or both characters.
There are still are other issues though, although these existed before
your code was added. One annoying one is this and I have no idea what
might cause it.
Normally in batch mode the output from Mathematica is all on one line,
but sometimes there are multiple lines. But the browser window only
shows the one line. The stdout.txt file that I create shows multiple
lines, so why don't the others appear in the browser window?
