I'd like to generate maps of the U.S. on the fly, in which each state is colored
according to info stored in a database. Like this:
http://www.congress.org/congressorg/issues/votes/?votenum=189&chamber=S&congress=1092
That pages generates the image from a script like so:
/MapImage/?AZ=006600&MD=990000&IL=990000&ME=006600& ...
The image map coords are included in that page for the rollovers, so I imagine
there's a way to employ them in the image generation script as well.
Is there a class or bit of code that will enable me to do this with the GB (or
another) lib? Or am I looking at a long, long night of rolling my own? If so,
I'll be happy to contribute it to the community when complete. Seems like
something a lot of grassroots organizations could use. I just can't seem to
find anything appropriate via Google.
TIA for any and all advice.
