I like Nedit, which will run on Mac OS X, but only if you're running the
Mac X11 Server. TextWrangler's not bad either -- not quite as many
features, but as it's specifically designed for Mac it behaves more like
you'd expect a Mac program to work. BBEdit is TextWranger's bigger brother
and has even more features. I've not found the need for it yet though.
