Very strange. I can't find any spec details that would account for it
either. And there's no way I'm going to have an IE6-only website :)
I grabbed your simplified version to use as an example for some other
forums (w3schools, for example). Hopefully someone will be able to
suggest something if there's nobody else here with any ideas.
But, ya, it's just weird.
