*Creating Multiple Income Streams*
Category: Affiliate Marketing - Setting Up | Date: 2003-04-28 |
All the most profitable Internet business owners have one thing in common, that of *multiple income streams*.
So what exactly is a multiple income stream?
Mainly there are two different types of multiple income streams and they are Affiliate Programs and backend sales.
First I will cover how to use Affiliate Programs to generate multiple income streams, this method is one of the surest ways of generating a regular income from the Internet, this is the plan.
Join one Affiliate Program, work on building up a team with between 5 and 10 *front liners* (these are people who will work hard at promoting the affiliate program, replicating your efforts and in turn will recruit between 5 and 10 *front liners* for their team and so on. Once you have a good solid team behind you, then move onto your next affiliate program and repeat the procedure again.
Over time this will enable you to receive a growing income from each of your affiliate programs. Another benefit is that if one Affiliate Program for whatever reason ceases to trade it is not your whole income that is affected and you can then replace the failed program with another.
Aim to repeat the above procedure up to ten times (so that you will be receiving income from ten different sources).
It is important to remember to give each affiliate program the dedication it needs to grow and succeed, any effort that you put in now, will be repaid to you over and over again in the future. You must look at each affiliate program the same as you would a *new* start up business of your own (there are NO get rich quick schemes). Have a realistic aim such as between 3 to 5 years to fulfill your potential and you will not be disappointed.
I risk repeating myself but it is so important for you to understand, that the Internet is not a medium for untold riches, it is not a lottery or magic wand, but it does afford you the possibility of owning and running your own business, cheaper and easier than any offline business could with the added advantage of offering your products or services to a far greater audience, but like an offline business you will still have to input effort, determination and persistence to succeed.
The second method for *multiple income streams* is by creating your own products for sale over the Internet. The best products for this purpose are digital/electronic products, examples are software, ebooks, info reports/articles or a web site filled with information that people would be prepared to pay a monthly membership fee to gain access to, or indeed a service product such as consultancy in your field of expertise.
If you consider yourself an expert in any field or if you have collected valuable hints and tips on any subject over the years i.e a hobby of yours perhaps, or anything that could make other peoples life easier, you could publish these hints and tips into an ebook or a series of info reports.
So how would you go about starting this ......
Simply write up all your collected information into short articles in your own words, it is very important to write articles in your words, DO NOT copy another publishers work (you will be opening yourself up to a legal minefield of copyright infringement), use other publishers articles for information basis only. Also writing articles in your own words not someone elses, injects your personality into the writing.
An excellent way of achieving this would be to think of an article, then imagine you are talking about and explaining this to a friend or a group of people and simply talk about your chosen subject into a tape recorder, Dictaphone or such like, play it back and type it up. You will be very surprised at the result, it will make for far better reading then anything done in a text book style.
Okay you now have your chosen affiliate programs and your own product or service, what next?
You need a web site to promote your affiliate programs and your products from, this doesnt have to be a 100 page, all singing, all dancing web site - one or two pages will do just fine. Write a real *killer* of a sales letter leading your visitor to your MWR to either join your affiliate program or purchase your service or product. This method is called *A direct response web site*, do not include hundreds of links to other sites (leading your prospect away from your own site), at the end of your sales letter include a link to your order form or your affiliate programs sign up page, in other words you are offering your prospect only two options, *purchase* or *leave*.
The ultimate would be to have a single page web site for each of your products or affiliate programs, if that is not possible just sub divide your one web site into one page sections and promote each one as a separate web site.
Examples of my own Affiliate program links from one web site are
http://www.netincomesite.com/affiliate/sfi.html
http://www.netincomesite.com/affiliate/allthesecrets.html
http://www.netincomesite.com/affiliate/imc.html
When promoting I treat each of the above links as a separate web site and promote each link individually.
Again you can do this with a number of your own products or services, thus creating *multiple income streams*
http://www.yourdomain.com/product1.html
http://www.yourdomain.com/product2.html
http://www.yourdomain.com/service1.html
This is the way most professional online entrepreneurs gain financial security and there is absolutely no reason why by following this idea, you not should not be equally successful to.
Wishing you luck in your ventures,
Simon Baxter.
