Creating The Perfect Mini Affiliate Site
Category: Affiliate Marketing - Setting Up | Date: 2003-04-28 |
Earning a full time living with affiliate programs has never been easier (and cheaper), yet still 90% of all affiliates fail to even earn a commission check, and only 1 to 2% of all affiliates earn enough for it to be considered a full time income. These people fail for many reasons, but the biggest killer is misinformation. I hope this article will somewhat rectify that.
Of course we all know that having our own product can also be one of the best ways to profit online. Earning a full time living with your own products is considerably easier then selling someone elses.
Here are the steps to follow to create the perfect Mini Affiliate Site
1. Create A One Page Web Site With Subscription Form
Creating a web site has never been cheaper then now. You can purchase domain names for only $13.50 at http://www.000domains.com and you can get web hosting specifically for mini sites at http://www.bizminisites.com for $9.95 for 3 months.
Your web page only needs to be a very simple site, with a very powerful headline. Have a look at a mini site I created quickly for this article. (If you have trouble designing web sites, you can get alot of really good free templates from http://www.freesitetemplates.com)

I even use a free autoresponder from Getresponse.com for giving my visitors my free lead generating report.
2. Creating Your Free Lead Generating Report
This report is vital to your Affiliate success. It will either be what makes the prospect buy or not buy from you. While the goal of this report is to sell them your Affiliate Program, you cannot send them one long sales letter. Well not yet anyway :) The report must be educational
and interesting.
Usually the report comes in around 7 parts. The first 4 or 5 parts are the educational section, the 6th part could be a special offer, and the 7th part could be a pure sales letter.
Of course, you would like to find an Affiliate Program that creates reports or even articles you could use.
Another good idea is when they give you their email send them a Free Ebook that youve created promoting that one Affiliate Program. I cant tell you how effective that is.
3. Advertise Your Site
Advertising your report will take a bit of testing, but using pay per click search engines, writing articles like this one and buying ezine advertising is a great start.
Advertising on PPCSEs is a great way to test how effective your site is, and how much it costs to get a subscriber. However I dont recommend spending more then 10 - 20 cents per click while your still testing your mini site. I highly recommend you start with http://www.goto.com or http://www.findwhat.com as they will deliver results quickly.
Another option is to pay for every subscriber from places like http://www.profitinfo.com. While Ive never used their service myself, you can get guaranteed subscribers for around 25 cents. While these would not be the most targetted group, its still worth a look if you want to grow your list quickly.
Of course when buying ezine advertising, I tend to stick with Solo Ads and Sponsorship Ads, as they bring the best result for your money. I dont however recommend spending a fortune on advertising when your first starting out.
4. Using Your Autoresponder For Maximum Profits
Your probably wondering what happens when youve got a huge subscription base, yet your free course has finished. Easy, you join another affiliate program, create a report, and send it to your current base of subscribers, while still promoting your first web site.
Of course, before I finish this article, I cant stress how important it is that you TRACK all of your advertising, so you know what works and what doesnt.
