Virus News Follow-up and Additional SPAM
Category: Archive catalogue | Date: 2003-10-05 |
Well, I hope all of you have made it through this past week of virus attacks without any problems. By now, most of you have heard of the "Love Bug" and all the virus that were derived from it. If not, check out one of these sites for latest information:
http://www.mcafee.com/
http://www.symantec.com/
As I was suggesting last week, if you do not have anti-virus software that is up-to-date, you may as well not have it. Both of these companies provide a quality product with on-line up dates. If you would like more information about buying them or upgrading what you have, dont hesitate to call (213-3768)
A couple more products and services that may help you use your computers more effectively....
-- REMOTE DESKTOP SUPPORT When one of our team members comes to your location to assist with desktop support issues, we have to charge a minimal time on site. However, there is software available that would let that team member dial in and fix many problems remotely. In such a case, you would be charged only actual time needed to resolve the problem.
A product that allows this is Symantec pcAnywhere -- $179.95. Let us install it for you -- total installed $201.95
-- UPGRADE YOUR COMPUTER Are you waiting on your computer to load programs or perform routine tasks? There is a procedure I use once in a while that takes about 5 seconds between mouse clicks for the computer to keep up. If I used this procedure regularly, I would waste hours EACH day. If you do something that makes you wait 6 seconds 100 times a day -- like adding information to a spreadsheet -- you will waste almost an hour a week. If you have to wait 30 seconds every time you launch an application, your wasted time really adds up!
How about a new computer? Hewlett Packard Brio BA200 MT -- 500 MHz Celeron, 10 Gig hard drive, 64 mb ram, 40X CD drive, 56 K modem, Windows 98:
$759.99 delivered and set up! (additional software installation and configuration subject to Level One support charges).
-- NEED A FASTER MODEM? If you are lucky enough to be located in an area where the phone lines support fast internet connections, you will want to be sure to have a 56 K modem.
Zoom/Fax Modem $69.99 installed. Features 56 K ITU V.90 and 56 K flex - 33.6 V.34 - 14.4 Kbps Fax - ZoomGuard (tm) Lightning Protection --- Much more
-- STILL NOT BACKING UP YOUR DATA? Iomega Zip100 drives allow you to put the equivalent of over 71 floppy disks on one RELIABLE Zip disk.
External Parallel Iomega Zip 100 SPECIAL PRICE!!!!! $95.99
-- WEB SITE SUBMISSION In my next SPAM, I am going to discuss getting more value from your web site as a business tool. Part of that will be a discussion of getting listed in search engines. If you have some time to spare, check out these links to search engine submission pages.

Also, take a look at these "meta submission" services.

Well, thats all the SPAM for now. If you want to be removed from future mailings, either call me or reply to this message with clear instructions to be removed.
P.S. Dont open any "Love Bug" attachments!
