Whether you are new to the Internet, or an "old pro", I can show you how to Profit from my mistakes. In the next few minutes you will learn how you can save hundreds of dollars and thousands of hours in the discovery, development and marketing of your Internet business.
MISTAKE:
I can make money with NO WORK on the net As I searched for the "perfect" Internet Business I read lots of advertising that promised to make me a fortune for *FREE* all I had to do was sit back, let the Internet work night and day and Id be a millionaire!
YOU PROFIT BY:
Understanding that here is no such thing as "FREE". So, lets get this notion out of the way fast. I paid $49.95 so many times it drove my wife crazy...and not one of them made me a millionaire. If the ad looked good I bought it! Everything worthwhile takes effort. The real question: What is the "amount of effort", based upon your financial objectives, you are willing to commit? Internet marketing takes capital. I dont mean just financial capital, I also mean mental and physical capital. If your funds are limited (as mine where), do you have the time and energy to compensate? If youre short on time, do you have the money to hire someone else to do the work for you? You must be able to answer these questions before you should spend one-thin-dime on any product or service.
MISTAKE:
Ill find a BETTER product I just knew that if I signed up with hundreds of programs I could really make a pile of dough. Every day I would get emails offering me a way to "make thousands" and as the "other" program wasnt working ...EUREKA... Ill add this one, after all, its free! I know I can make money if I just have a little something for EVERYONE!
YOU PROFIT BY:
Realizing that you cannot be all things for all people. You scatter your thoughts and energy trying to be. Have you ever run into one of those websites where there are hundreds of banners for products and services? And many of the banners are just different companies with the same product or service! For a while, that was mine! Remember, the internet is the ultimate in *niche* marketing. Develop your niche through one product or service then take action! Once you have decided upon a product or service STAY FOCUSED and have a plan of action to realize your financial objectives!
MISTAKE:
I built a Website - they will come my website is good to look at, its got everything! A great big WELCOME TO MY SITE graphic, tons of links and banners to great stuff, lots of type styles, and a great form so I can get people to fax/email me to order the stuff. IMHO its terrific and BTW, you can see it at www.somehost.com/AnotherMember/~mybiz/~mypage/GreatPage.htm With all the junk I have to offer, boy-oh-boy, the money will be rolling in!
YOU PROFIT BY:
Recognizing that this mistake has about 10 different problems wrapped into one, yet it is common throughout the Internet. Within it you can find misspellings, poor grammar, abbreviations that means nothing to many readers, a site address that reflects the *FREE* mentality, and an attitude that really needs adjustment! Your Web page is a reflection of you and your business, shouldnt it be professional? Think of it this way, your Web pages are marketing tools -- nothing more. What is your web page saying about you?
MISTAKE:
Everyone with an email address is just like me Im going to email the millions on that CD, they all want to make money and my one sales letter is a killer I wrote it myself, it lets everyone know what a great guy I am. Id buy from me!
YOU PROFIT BY:
Knowing that Email Marketing works, when done properly! Not everyone with an email address is interested in your offer. What will spark the interest of one reader will not with another. And probably the most important thing to remember is that there are those NetCitizens who live for the opportunity to flame, mail bomb and complain about SPAM to your ISP. I know one marketer who cannot get an ISP in his hometown because he never learned the proper way to run an email marketing campaign.
MISTAKE:
I can do it better than.....! OK, I bought another plan and skimmed the material. This author hasnt said anything that I dont already know. I know I can do it better than that! YOU PROFIT BY - acknowledging that you purchased advice, therefore you should take it! Over the years I have worked with countless attorneys, accountants and recently with Internet Marketers all with the same lament. Why wont my client(s) take my advice?... It stems from a perceived notion that the advice is flawed. If it is flawed, why did you ask for it? Its time to cash your reality check! Never *skim* over any materials you purchase. Read every line! Then take every action recommended as long as it is honest and ethical. When you work with a plan and its not successful ... CHANGE THE PLAN ... Every plan I ever purchased had some kind of guarantee for my money back *IF* I could show that I had followed the plan. Guess who never got any money back?
MISTAKE:
"I can do this by myself!" Heck, I work at home, when I want to and in my pajamas. I dont need anyone!
YOU PROFIT BY:
Recalling the quotation "..No man is an island..." Yes, Internet Marketing is run from your home, right on your computer and on your schedule. However I have discovered three things.
1. When in business, attend to business.
2. No one can work in a vacuum. Human beings need support and encouragement!
3. With any new enterprise, find out who is the best and do what they do!
Until I found my "Internet mentor" I struggled with various aspects of this business. Now I find that I am much more productive and my financial goals and objectives are being met. Now you have read of the many "errors" that can be made on the road to a successful enterprise on the Internet and some of the ways to avoid them. I am told that they apply to most any endeavor. You are encouraged to avoid those *mistakes* and save yourself hundreds of dollars, thousands of hours and a lifetime of looking back and saying "...if I had only....."
