So, you have begun your own business! While it is exciting to be
an entrepreneur, it is comes with some distinct challenges. Follow this checklist to see is you have all the fundamentals and potential to create the financial success you desire.
* Outlook and Expertise:
- Do you believe fully that you will succeed?
- Are you feeling confident?
- Do you feel what you provide has high value?
- Are you afraid to market and do you believe marketing is somehow
a bad thing?
- Do you have the desire to make your business work?
- Is your business your burning passion?
- Can you make fast decisions?
* Finances:
- Are you prepared for some financial ups and downs and have you
set aside some monies for this purpose?
- Do you have a record keeping system?
- Have you set up a separate checking account?
- Do you have an accountant if you have questions?
- Have you thought about become a merchant to accept credit cards?
- Have you prepared a budget of the expenses it will take to run
your business?
* Public Relations:
- Are you prepared to ask friends and family for referrals?
- Will you contact people to send you business?
- How will you let people know about you?
- Will you ask for business?
- Can you initiate people finding out about your business?
- Who can help you implement a name recognition strategy?
- How will the public find you?
As you begin or prepare to initiate your own business, it is important you understand all your beliefs, fears and attitudes.
If you have a story running in your head about sales or marketing feeling like manipulation or if you dont fully believe in yourself or your product or service, you will find that owning your own business wont be the great fun and success it can be.
You can have a business that is profitable and enjoyable if you believe in you and the business and understand that there are ways to market and sell that match your style and integrity.
