Change losing money into making money in minutes.
You say how do I do that? I want to make money. You can change your luck by changing your words. What words are those you say. The first words you prospects see on your website, ezine or ad. People decide everyday to read or not to read an ad, an article, or a web page by the headline that you put on your material. Think about it how often do you buy a magazine because of a few choice words that the publisher has chosen to put on the cover. Or what about the last book you read did you buy it because of a short excerpt that the publisher put on the jacket of the book.
Do your ads, webpages, sales letters have headline, if not why not?
If you buy magazines, books, newspapers by the emotional appeal of the headlines then you already know this sales tip. Let us think about this a bit more. How can you paint a vivid picture with words at the top of your presentations? Are you headlines boring, serious and factual?
Example: "People who eat soup as a first course lose weight."
This states a factual statement.
Rewriting this headline Perhaps one could say
" Carol, This is Sue "I lost 20 pounds this month by just eating soup as my first course!"
Notice the first example states a fact. The second one builds a scene.
Here is a woman telling her best friend she lost weight by doing something she didnt mind doing at all. She is excited, proud and conveys hope to her friend if I can do it so cans you.
When you revise your headlines take the time to think it through so you convey action. Write so your reader immediately knows what the benefit is to them. In the example above know that they can easily lose weight by eating soup.
Tide laundry detergent has been running one of the greatest ad campaigns I have seen in years. One of their billboards read Tide
Takes out takeout. In four words you have product identification,
What the benefit to the consumer is done in four words. Now I am sure that this company paid ad expert lots of money for these four words. Think about it if you could only use four words and a toll free number to advertise your product what would those four words be?
Start noticing slogans, headlines. Practice writing them you can become the expert that with four words can convey product identification, benefits to the customer, in the least amount of action words. In almost all cases you want your message to be very short. People dont have time to drill into your ad for meaning. Tell them what you have to offer and how you can help them. Remember, people often scan for information, they dont actually read very much.
Be sure to use white space effectively. That is, make sure you make your ad easy to scan, for URLs and email addresses especially. Also, be aware that you cant use boldface or italics. Good organization is critical.
Think of what youd want to know about someone and answer those questions about yourself. People are more likely to respond to your ad if they are attracted by something youve told them about you.
Show them dont tell them draw pictures with words. Instead of saying you "like music, movies, and restaurants," offer specific examples.
Be creative. Make your ad stand out by including a special quote or describing your most intriguing feature or most memorable experiences. If you have a sense of humor, dont just say so; show it! Have fun with your ad. Make sure that you offer something worthwhile. If possible, offer something for free. Give the readers a reason to visit your site, or to subscribe to your service or newsletter.
Pay attention to spelling and grammar. People are more likely to take your ad seriously if youve put some thought into it. First, be spontaneous, then read it over.
This technique is worth the time. You could increase your sales 200 percent, maybe more. If you can get the reader to read your ad then think what this could do for your business.
Advertisements get a bad reputation because they are poorly written and because they target the wrong users. Heres a big hint: If an ad is well thought out and if the content reaches the right group, the ad will actually be of great
value to readers.
So spend the time to learn to write great headlines. Collect great memorable headlines. See what attracted you to these headlines. I quarantine you wont be sorry. Your words can change losing money into making money today.
