"Ive finally got it, the perfect domain name." People spend days, weeks, and even months pondering over that perfect domain name. One that everyone will say, "why didnt I think of that name?"
"Ill register it immediately because I just know there is someone out there that is thinking of the same name and steal it from under my nose. It shouldnt be a big deal to register a name (or should it?)." At a registration site I hesitatingly type the name in the box. "I hope no one at the registration site decides to steal this great name. I would be devastated."
After all, JoesBarAndGrille.com is not an ordinary name. It shouts out to the throng. Surfers would turn in their mice once they clicked on it. The Cyberangels would be playing their harps in Cyberheaven. Forget the search engines. They would only point to one site anyway and we all know the site.
With lightning speed I input JoesBarAndGrille.com. I better hurry. I just know someone is probably typing in that same name right now. I hit enter and to my utter amazement find that JoesBarAndGrille.com is still available. Will wonders never cease? I instantly hit continue. Ive got to complete this process quickly before I lose out.
Company name - What company? It is just little ole me and all my "get rich today" opportunities. I skip that and continue on with name, address, city and state, which is all easy stuff. This is a piece of cake. Or is it? Next comes administrative contact - wait a minute - my name isnt Clinton. Furthermore, what is a nic handle? I thought that was something Mrs. Clause grabs after the ten course Christmas dinner.
Technical contact - That has to be me! I am a expert in every way - just ask my wife and kids. But there is that nic handle again. Persistent arent they?
Billing contact. Thats me for sure! I quickly input all the necessary data (except nic handle). What a relief? Do I own JoesBarAndGrille.com yet? I can see that name flashing in lights right now and being broadcast on the radio and TV as the #1 site on the Internet. I input the information received from my new hosts web site, primary and secondary server hostnames with netaddresses. What the heck does all that mean?
I hit the "submit" button. I must own this name by now. WHAT? PAYMENT? I get out the credit card and hope we havent run over our limit. I timidly input my card info and press proceed. A window comes up saying to be patient while they approve my credit. It seems like an eternity. This is the longest wait in my life. My entire future rests on this. A screen finally congratulates me for registering my new domain name.
I am the proud owner of the perfect domain name - JoesBarAndGrille.com is all mine. I am on my way to fame and fortune. Stand back surfers, I have arrived (or have I?).
