Streamline Your Ezine!

An ezines effectiveness depends on its content. BUT the effectiveness of the content is dependent on its PRESENTATION!
Your ezine could be FULL of valuable content, but folks are
missing it because of its lack of READABILITY. Here are some basics for setting up a readable ezine.
1. KISS - Keep It Short and Simple - too many topics to cover in one issue will lose your audience. Choose 3 or 4 segments to include in every issue. And keep it at that. The Table of Contents should not be so long that your reader is bored and leaves before he gets through it!!!
2. Keep it Consistent - Set up a template that includes those 3 or 4 segments, and use it for every issue. Your readers will recognize the format and know what to expect, and what to look for.
3. Keep it White! - Plenty of white space in and around your segments keeps it readable.
4. Keep it Reasonable - Advertising is necessary if you want your ezine to become one of your income streams. But if that is ALL it contains - you can kiss your subscribers good-bye. One segment of classified ads (at the bottom) and one or two sponsor ads (Top spot, and center) really is about all a reader will tolerate. Your advertisers will thank you also. It keeps their ads more effective.
Need to see some examples? Heres a sample template. Feel free to use it, or take it and modify it to your needs.
