Should You Start an Ezine?

The answer is definately yes.First of all,you can make money from selling ads.However,the main purpose is to build a large opt in list.You will be able to sell your products at a much higher conversion rate with your ezine subscribers.

You should publish your ezine at least monthly,but preferably weekly or bi-weekly.You also need to include originial fresh useful content.Many ezines are full of ads, many of them free to new subscribers.In many cases the results from these ads are marginal.I believe that newbies would be better off subscribing to ezines with more content and less ads.With fewer ads,the ads have much more impact anyway.

Here are some things you can do to build up your base of subscribers:

1.Pop Up Forms- They are more effective than plain text links.Pop Ups are annoying,but you would most likely get your best results when the visitor is exiting your site.

2. Visitors need to be able to subscribe to every page of your website.Not everyone enters your website on the homepage.Near the top of the page would be best.

3. Have newsletter archives on your website. Also,it gives you more exposure for your ads in your own ezine.

4. Contact other ezines to have your subscription forms placed on their site and vice-versa.

5. Trade ads with other ezines.

6. Use all announcement lists possible.

7. Give a bonus to new subscribers.

8. Use your signature file with every email that you send promoting your ezine.

9. Write articles to other ezines.This also helps people to recognize you as an expert in your field.

10. Post answers to a couple of Discussion boards.

11. Use paid subscriber lists.There are several where you can get opt in subscribers to your ezine for 15-20 cents per subscriber.Also,you can pick how many subscribers you like to get per month.

12. Use contests to get new subscribers.

Building up your ezine will help your online profits grow. Your best customers are your ezine subscribers.

You want to get to 1,000 subscribers quickly.At that point, you should be able to make money selling ads.Once you get to 10,000 subscribers,your business should really start to reap the rewards.
