There are two benefits of ezines that are most common. One is they are a great source of free detailed information, another is they provide an excellent place to run ads that reach your targeted market. However, besides these more common advantages, there is another less obvious benefit that can create massive amounts of traffic.
Nearly all ezines have this and it is 99% of the time free. What is this amazing form of promotion? Articles! Have you ever noticed the brief description at the end of these articles? This description includes the authors name and has a short sentence or two describing the author and/or what they do along with their URL.
A well-written article can generate massive amounts of targeted traffic. Ezines are often read from top to bottom, therefore the articles are many times the center of attraction. Remember, folks love ezines for the free information! Articles provide this information.
Its a proven fact that the average person will see a name or product seven times before they will buy. Writing articles provides a way to get your name and product in front of folks over and over. This alone will begin the sales process.
Two ingredients that are very important to the sales process are recognition and trust. Articles help create recognition because with each publication the author is getting their name in front of large numbers of targeted people. Many times a publisher will use numerous articles from the same author, thus making the authors name recognized. How many times do you buy from a company youve not heard of?
Trust is the second ingredient. Each article gives the reader a tip about something that will benefit them. Since you ask nothing in return and arent throwing a sales pitch, the reader builds trust. Also, you are the expert and the best place to go when you need a specific service or product is to the expert! Therefore your visitor is already half way sold on your product before they ever see your site!
Now, before you say "Me...Write?" Consider this, how many times have you told a friend about a gizzy you have purchased, only to talk to them a day or so later and learn that they bought a gizzy too? In a nut shell, you promoted and sold that product and didnt even know it!
Writing ezine articles is basically the same thing! Write as if youre telling a friend about something that will truly help them out. Make the article short and interesting and you will be on your way to getting the exposure and sales you need!
