Get Known Or Get Lost

There is one thing that I am pretty certain of: In order to survive on the net as an Netrepreneur in the next millennium, you need to get to know your prospect on a personal level as much as possible. Otherwise you'll get lost in the hyper-competitive cyber-crowd's "blackhole".
Let me elaborate. After reading a very popular e-book ( I even paid for it ) that talks about writing your own articles and getting the word out about you and your business, I began to realize that it is almost mandatory for the "little guy" trying to make a buck on the "NET" to implement this marketing strategy just to survive.
Hiding behind the proverbial website, autoresponders, and all the other gizmos on the net that automate the process are good up to a point, but eventually you must engage the prospect belly button to belly button, knee cap to knee cap, cyber to cyber in order to stand out from the crowd.
Note: I am not necessarily saying you physically have to meet the prospect ( although this maybe necessary at times, geography permitting ) but get a dialog going with them UNO to UNO via email, phone, fax etc.
Of course the more credibility you have built up before engagement with the prospect, the better your chances to do business with them. Nothing earth shaking here. Just good old fashioned "Cyberhorse sense". So break out the "Notepad" ( on your computer of course ) and start writing.
