Why 95% Of Online Businesses NEVER Make Profit And How YOU Can Avoid The Same Mistakes!
Category: Entrepreneurship | Date: 2002-05-08 |
Sad but true. My intention here is not to scare any budding netpreneur, but to make them realize the fact before its too late. This is just a statistical figure till now and not a theorem or proof which has to be right every time.
HASTINESS and LACK OF PROPER SKILLS are the main reasons justifying this staggering percentage of people who dont make any profit on the Net. One forgets the basic fact that making money is a SERIOUS business, be it on or off the Net.
The Net is no doubt a Gold mine but, as an uncut Diamond will be of no use to anybody no matter how abundant it is, without MASTERING the basic skills and a SYSTEMATIC APPROACH you will definitely lose more money than what you will be making; you can take it from me or learn it the hard way :)
Mastering these skills to survive on The Net (or any business for that matter) requires patience, determination, unfaltering faith in your self and the energy to succeed. By energy I dont mean the physical one but the mental energy, the burning desire, the ENTHUSIASM to reach your goal. I would really love to meet anyone who has made it to the top without any of these qualities.
Dont be under the impression that all successful people are born with these attributes. 99% of the people who are successful have ACQUIRED these skills. They take their journey as a learning process and they learn from their mistakes. They are not discouraged by failures but on the other hand adversity pulls out the best from them.
Anybody, yes I repeat, anybody can cultivate these habits as long as they have the desire and energy to persevere. You should have your vision CRYSTAL CLEAR in your mind. I will cite hear a beautiful example of an anecdote taken from Hindu mythological stories.
There was this young boy who comes to a Guru and asks him to teach archery. He says that he wants to be best archer in the whole world. At that the Guru takes this boy to a nearby river, grabs his head and dips it in the river. He holds it inside the water for a minute. Immediately upon releasing, the Guru asks him, what he wants at that exact moment. The boy says he wants air to breathe. At that the Guru tells him that he has failed the test. He tells the boy to comeback only when the desire to become the worlds best archer surpasses any other desire at ANY TIME.
The moral of the anecdote is very obvious. Many of us want to become rich and successful; but, are you ready to pay a price for it? And more important than all, HOW BADLY you want to succeed?
So, nurture that desire inside you, let it be your TOP MOST PRIORITY, have patience, believe in yourself and NEVER EVER GIVE UP. I guarantee that if you follow the above principles nothing will be impossible for you. Remember, this is a MARATHON RACE and not a 100m sprint. 95% of the people fail to understand this and burn up their reserves halfway itself!
One who has energy as well as talent is a king. One who has only energy but no talent is a prince but he who has hoard of talent but no energy is a pauper :)
