Sam, My Border Collies Internet Marketing Advice! No: 14
Category: Home Based Business - Marketing | Date: 2003-06-24 |
Sam (thats my 12 year old Border Collie) and I were walking again through the Bush (Australian countryside). Sam as usual was ranging out from me checking for the Eucalyptus trees that needed his marketing skills.
When we reached our usual rock beside the fallen log, I said to Sam, well what little secret are you going to let us all in on today? "I thought you could let our readers know about my Web-site." Said Sam.
Ok Sam, Ill give it a go:
As wed approached the spot beside the fallen log, Sam had been ranging out from me checking for the Eucalyptus trees that needed his masterful touch. Hes become an expert at that over the years and can always tell if another dog has checked out the pages of his Web site since his last walk.
When this happens Sam always follows up his visitors message (even if its been a bounce back) with a helpful message that gives lots of benefits to his visitor. Often he and his visitor develop a relationship that is profitable to them both. Together they increase their helpful influence on others.
Some of these relationships grow and other visitors are introduced to his ever-growing circle of friends. As Sams circle of friends grows in width and depth so too does his ability to multiply the benefits to others that come into contact with the pages of his site.
Ive even known Sam to refresh the information about the benefits that he provides on almost a daily basis. He works hard at providing his helpful advice and hes always totally focused on getting a result for his efforts.
Walking Sam is one of my great joys in life. He knows that I love his company while at the same time he gives me a free hand to think about Internet marketing issues.
The area that we walk in gives Sam the opportunity to promote his wares, and he does so with the finesse of a veteran marketer. To Sam the area is his very own Web-site.
Any other dog travelling through his site is promptly made aware that he has his own program to promote and he fastidiously helps all those who enter to become aware of the benefits he can provide.
On his site Sam almost always points out the benefits he has to offer rather that the features of his program. He keeps his site simple and to the point.
Any other dog entering his site will not be distracted with fancy graphics, an overabundance of features or any other time-wasting tactics. When they enter Sams site they get presented with a picture clearly enunciating benefits.
Sometimes we rest together beside a fallen log. We can look into each others eyes with the perfect trust that should exemplify all Internet marketers. When our eyes meet we are so in tune that we can virtually read each others thoughts.
Sam explained to me with great patience how and why he is so careful in the design of his Web-site: "I reckon its simply a matter of beginning with a small simple site.
Right from the start the message must be simple, honest and clearly state the benefits. When visitors call in to check out my message (and often leave their own bounce back messages) its just a matter of helping them to get access to the benefits.
You see, its a bit like helping others by rowing them across the river. When you get them there you realise that you are there too.
As others become your rowing partners, more and more of you will get to the other side of the river. I hope this is clear to you because before we go to lunch, Id just like to make sure that Ive covered all the trees in my area."
Returning home with Sam I was deep in thought and Sam ranged around his trees leaving helpful messages to his regular and new visitors.
Boy what a great way to make profitable relationships AND great friends and what a great way to get to the other side of the river. Thank you Sam you never let me down. Good Boy!
"I know!" said Sam. He always has to have the last word.
