Is your life headed for DISASTER? Or is it headed for consistent HAPPINESS? Even though you may not have given it much thought, he words you habitually use every day may be hindering you from ever reaching your most cherished dreams.
Words are the cells of the communication organism. The way in which we communicate with words, be it by phone, in person, or through email, can affect whether you reach the summit, or whether you even start the climb! Words have the power to destroy, or to build. It is up to you to decide what they will do for you, and for your business.
The words you habitually use will affect how well youll be able to market your business.
Here is a positive word exercise to help you self-evaluate your own use of words:
First, write down a few paragraphs describing how you feel about the progress your business has made since you started. If you have just started, or are still deciding on a business, write down your version of a business plan to success. Make sure to
keep a constant awareness of the types of words you are using, and how they affect the tone of what you are writing.
Second, underline every positive adjective, and circle every neutral or negative adjective. Make two separate lists of these words and see which list is longer. If your neutral/negative list is longer than your positive, you are going to need to concentrate on replacing a lot of them with positives.
Third, try to find more uplifting, succinct, and inspiring alternative words for the ones on your positive list.
Here is a short list of power-packed positive words you can assimilate in to your own vocabulary. Try to use synonyms (words with the same or similar meaning) to replace less effective words in your vernacular. Youll find that not only will your overall
attitude will improve, but also the future of your business.
