Ah..Reading.Do Folks Still Read?
Category: Home Based Business | Date: 2001-11-02 |
In my last article I suggested home business tips and completely overlooked reading. I merely took it for granted that everyone reads. But do you really read?
Take for instance, the various newsletters seen all over the Internet. There are absolutely hundreds of them on numerous subjects ranging from food recipes to computer news.
I suspect most of us browse through their contents until we locate our advertisement or article that we have contributed and then hit the delete key! What a Shame! Gone forever....
Personally, I am subscribed to many newsletters or ezines myself. They are the backbone of education on the net. I have discovered countless new ideas just by reading other newsletters. They are like a miniature textbook.
I do not know how much time other publishers and editors put into their own newsletters, but I carefully select beneficial reading material for my readers and encourage comments from my readers about something they would like or submit a useful article themselves. I attempt to send good reading material to others in home business and anyone else that may find some of my newsletter's content, beneficial.
I will admit I scan newsletters too... I 'm being truthful, but I admire a well written and useful article. I was an inexperienced Newbie almost two years ago. I had no clue how to operate a computer, much less manage a business. I find myself browsing the web searching for more reading about home business, and meeting others with whom I can exchange ideas and knowledge. When it comes right to the point, reading something from someone that has been there and done that, that type of material is the best.
A message of warning about the experienced , you must read between the lines, not only are they experienced, but ready to catch you in their web of deceit. They know how to catch their prey and make a profit. Let it be said, reading can and will help you find new avenues to explore and skimming....well its acceptable, but you missed something beneficial right under your nose! That teeny bit of information may have made you a penny or two if you had only took the time to read it. So, the next newsletter or ezine you receive, check it out carefully, you never know where it may lead you or what you might find if you click on a link... Enough said.
