Dealing With NIUs (Non-Internet Users)

Face it, those of us that work at home over the Internet just aren't understood by the rest of the world.

How can we be?

We really live in two worlds, you know.

We have an Internet portal that allows us to view this other world, and for those who don't look through the portal, it just plain makes no sense.

I'm sure many of you have experienced problems with your friends and loved ones, in particular spouses, who just don't understand what you are doing.

We've all heard the nagging questions. For example:

1. How can you make money playing on your own computer?
2. Did you make any money yet?
3. When are you going to get a real job?
4. When are you coming to bed?

Then, of course, there are the nagging comments.

1. You put too much time in on that thing.
2. I think you're married to that computer not me.
3. You're going to get fat just sitting there.
4. You're crazy.

Look at it from a Non-Internet User's (NIU's) point of view, however. What are you doing when your working over the computer?

I know what your doing. You are advertising, marketing, following up interests, maintaining business contacts, providing assistance, developing web sites, developing new concepts, searching for other opportunities, and a dozen other things.

NIU's point of view:
Sitting in front of the computer.

When you're online, you are in contact with the rest of the world. You know people on other continents, in other businesses, in different cultures. You have personal relationships with people you have never physically met.

NIU's point of view:
Sitting in front of the computer.

At times we don't work, we get out a cd-rom game and play it or simply surf around the net.

NIUs point of view:
Sitting in front of the computer.

When you stay up too late trying to push your business and instead fall asleep in your chair, what are you doing?

NIU's point of view
Sitting in front of the computer.

So you see, to a NIU, working, playing, and sleeping all look pretty much the same.

You see, then, how the NIU could have a problem believing in you as you spend countless hours sitting in front of the computer?

You see how there could be conflicts?

For the most part, all you want is to be left alone so you can work and prove them wrong, correct? So, you need to be able to efficiently deal with these kinds of things in order to get the peace and quiet needed to stay on task.

Don't worry, I have the solutions. These are time-tested, complete solutions, too. These are the answers to all of the above mentioned problems.

There are three levels of resolve.

1. Comment for Comment.
2. Temporary Relief from Comments
3. Permanent Relief from Comments.

Comment for Comment

These are guaranteed answers that will allow you to fight back effectively, granting you a little more time to work.

Questions

1. How can you make money playing on your own computer?

Answer: I'm not. I'm actually playing on the Federal Reserve Bank's computer.

2. Did you make any money yet?

Answer: Of course, but it's a national holiday in Switzerland, so I won't be able to transfer any funds to our personal account until tomorrow.

When are you going to get a real job?

Answer: If this works? Never. If not? It'll be at least 20-30 years.

When are you coming to bed?

Answer: Not until this FBI trace program leaves me alone. Comments

1. You put too much time in on that thing.

Return: You're right, I should get a laptop so I can get out once in a while.

2. I think you're married to that computer not me.

Return: Actually, it's more like an affair.

3. You're going to get fat just sitting there.

Return: Yeah, well then we'll be even won't we? (Comments are to be used at reader's discretion. I am not responsible for negative repercussions.)

4. You're crazy.

Return: You've just now noticed?

Temporary Relief

If however, you would just like to avoid these comments and questions so you can have the time you need to get business going, you might just have to play DIRTY. Say the following:

This work is so Difficult, requires so much of my Intelligence, and has so much Responsibility to it. I'm Tired, would You do it for me tonight?

You are guaranteed to be left alone.

Permanent Relief

Now, ultimately, all of the above tricks will fail. There is only one tactic that will answer all questions, cease all negative comments, and allow you the freedom to work how and when you want. It's one of those simple yet complicated things. However, if you can do it, I absolutely, irrevocably, guarantee you will have no problem with your Non-Internet Users again.

You will be granted complete freedom to sit in front of the computer all you want. Never again will you be disturbed, never again will you be made fun of or harassed. Never again will you be questioned. All you have to do is simply...
