Whats Wrong With Running An Adult Web Site?
Category: Home Based Business | Date: 2002-07-10 |
A good question, some of you might say. Another freak, others might reply. Well my friends, if you ask me then I'll say, there is nothing wrong with it. Many people, and just as many choices. Me personally I am not a preacher. It is someone else's choice whether to run a marketing web site, Astrology one, or a XXX Adult web site.
And as much as I may disappoint some of you, some others will agree with me, that every business has the right to exist, and to prosper. As long as no one is hurt every business might try to survive, and to make money for the owner.
Sex is selling big time. However, it is made almost impossible for the people running that kind of business to promote it. No one wants to run their ads in ezines, or mailing services. Only the Search Engines accept them, and from there the people do stream in floods to these kinds of web sites. Believe it or not but 70% of the people surfing the net do visit, and are searching for (Free)Adult sites.
Where else might this kind of site advertise? The only other choice, or possibility they have are the outlaw sites, such as warez, and crackers web sites. And rest assured dear friend, that floods of people are streaming towards sites that offer software, and films, and music for FREE, or the codes to crack them without paying for it. In exchange therefor they have to click or watch Adult sites.
Because one of my ads simply explains that the business I run is providing Adult web sites with traffic, I got warnings. That my ad has to be changed, otherwise it will not go out. Simply the usage of the word Adult was a TABOO. I had to find words like: People older than 21 years of age, and so on. What do you think about it? Give me your own opinion and be honest. Who needs such Control?
The other side of the story is that there are actually people thanking me for giving their business the possibility to advertise.
The Free Adult Lotto sites are doing the advertising, and rest assured that only people that are choosing to see such web sites are playing the lotto! So, what is wrong with advertising Adult web sites? No one is hurt but still, the Taboo is resting on it.
Being for years on the net already, and surfing quite a lot around I have never seen Adult web sites without searching explicitly for them. So even if I try very hard, I cannot understand why so many are working hard to stop such sites from running. Imagine what will happen if starting tomorrow a new law comes out prohibiting you from running a home based business? How would you feel? How would you react on something like it? Would you stop then?
