"HOW TO" TRICKS FOR INCREASED SALES USING FREE OFFERs
Category: Marketing Strategy | Date: 2001-03-29 |
Did you ever buy something you didn't really need just because you received something free that is worth the price you paid?Everyone has at some time or another, I did it earlier this week.
A couple days ago I received an offer in an email from a leading business publisher. The email didn't really tell me too much on what good the newsletter would do me, but the promotions for the free download worth $140.00 sure caught my attention. It was an offer i couldn't refuse. After all"The Freebie" was at least worth the subscription right?
TIP; ALWAYS INCLUDE A FREE OFFER WHEN ADVERTISING
An irresistible offer is why people buy things. Ask yourself,if you could get $140.00 for giving your email address to someone, would you? You bet you would!! This only proves that if you want to increase the response rate to your ads, give the people something FREE. Most Small Internet Marketing Business's hardly ever utilize this attention getting technique. Bad mistake that could have been avoided. Even the worst advertisement ever written will garner more traffic if it had included something FREE.
TACTIC; USE DOUBLED UP ADVERTISING
I refer to this tactic as "Double Ading"The original advertisement doesn't have generate sales at all. It's used to generate leads and traffic to your business website.Half the battle is getting them to your site. The increase in traffic should result in more prospects coming back.Using two ads in "one" advertisement is not as easy as it
sounds, but by experimenting you will get quite good at it in a rather short period of time.
Double Ading = More Traffic = More Leads = More Sales
TECHNIQUE; HOW TO DEVELOP AN OFFER
I've used the following 3 procedures, many, many times to create FREE offers to promote products. It's quite simple and easy. The TRICK is to make it Appeal to the prospects subconscious mind that they simply MUST do what you said to do.Try it, you may like the results.
STEP 1:
Select One (1) product or service to promote. The problem is too many ads on the same page. This is mostly seen in email publishing where 5-10 ads usually grace the e-mail. This is fine for an ezine or newsletter, but not when your attempting to hold a readers attention. The prospect got lost while looking at everything else that was offered. Keeping it simple is very important. When selling multiple products or services PICK ONE,and ONLY ONE. Use this as your major "Traffic Generator" for each campaign.
STEP 2:
Decide what you want your prospect or customers who receive your offer to do. A good example would be, do you want potential prospects to write you an email or to call you toll free for additional information? Maybe you want them to visit your business website. It's also acceptable to use 2 TACTIC's at the same time such as,an autoresponder reply for more information, coupled with an offer to join right away.Utilize what you feel is necessary. Experiment, find what works best and GO FOR IT.
STEP 3:
Make an offer they simply "Can't Refuse".Make it as attention getting and attractive as you possibly can.Make your offer "HYPNOTIZE" them. Make them think clicking your link is their only solution. The world might end if they don't!!My point is, don't be afraid to be outrageous, silly, even border line nuts with the text content.A good habit is to write four or five, 5-6 line ads QUICKLY.Don't worry about spelling mistakes or grammar. Just write them. When you complete this task, GO BACK and REWRITE THEM,over and over and over until you your satisfied with the ad.
"I will get you free stuff" is bland & not very enticing."I'll GIVE YOU this AMAZING Software FREE"Makes the prospect want to take advantage of the offer.Again, you need to experiment, test and track the ads till
you find what works best.
