Systems Lead to Success

If you asked the owners of the most successful businesses you know what has made them what they are, they would most likely tell you that it was because they developed a system based on their ultimate goal.
Many companies have a "policy and procedures" (rules) manual that must be followed. But, these rules are based only on strict adherence, leaving no room for creativity or change. Rules lose sight of results.
A system provides the guidelines to achieve a particular result. As a business owner, having these guidelines allows you to focus on results rather than rules that focus on procedures. The difference between a system as a guideline and rules is where your success can be measured.
When you develop a system as your foundation for your promotions, you are opening the door for creativity and flexibility. A system of guidelines simply keep you on track towards your expected results. There are no restrictions placed on you in how you get them. You are able to change your actions to match the needs of your customers.
An effective system keeps you "customer oriented". When you focus on who your customers are and what they want, you will increase sales. You will be able to change as they change. And, you will be able to quickly adapt to ANY change without altering or hurting your solid foundation.
Be sure you take some time to develop a system that serves as the core of your business. Focus this system on the results of providing good customer service. Spend time learning about your customers and what they expect of you. Remain open to new ideas and ways to reach your customers. This will result in your business success.
