Can you write a simple 5 line Classified AD

Hi.

This may seem like a very daft question, But can you write a simple 5 line classified Ad?

My name is Mike Hills I am editor and publisher of the Daily Classifieds eZine, at www.DailyClassifieds.co.uk. I am also owner of one of the larger eZine co-ops 10dollars20ads at www.10dollars20ads.com.

As you can imagine I get loads of classified ads sent me.

Most are ok and can be passed on, but some Ads I get are just simply a waste of time. Not only for me but also the person that is advertising.

Here are a selection of ads received in the last few days.

Where is the url? where does the customer find you? Result 100% waste of time

Ok this time they got the url in. BUT because they added a: joined to the http://www. the link doesn't work. Result 50% waste of time

Again they got the url in but again they added something BEFORE the http://www. so the link doesn't work Result 50% waste of time

Well at least I published their ads again.

What I am driving at is.

Well about 5-10% of all the ads I received have faults. Stupid, simple, easily correctable faults but faults none the less.

These faults cost you the advertiser and me, money and more importantly time.

Most internet marketers will not chase a dead link, or even cut and paste a link into a browser, unless specifically asked to do so.

So when you do submit your 5 lined classified ad. Remember.

1) Does it read correctly?

2) Have I included my URL and or contact details?

3) Does the link work?

Once you have checked all the above. send your Ad to yourself.

4) Once you have received your ad. Check the above again.

5) Then and only then submit your ad to where ever you are posting it.

By doing these few simple things, you can avoid the upset of seeing your ad published, and knowing full well " YOU BLEW IT " because no one is going to visit your site.
