Basic Business Knowledge is as Important for a Businessman as Driving Skills are for a Car Owner. Learn the Basics and... MOVE AHEAD!

Basic business knowledge is usually overlooked by most of the novices in business. This statement sounds funny, but the truth is: if you intend to build an independent company and to be your own boss, you need to know the fundamental business rules.

The Internet has done a great deal of harm to all committed and promising beginners in business, especially those who are willing to involve themselves in international business. The Internet has created the illusion that business can be based on information obtainable via modem connection. The belief is so strong that the main focus of the business, is on electronic data; the processing of this data has become the company’s main activity. Dedicated and hard working people start to process information with the conviction that this kind of processing is equal to structuring a proper business. Willingness to run a business is like the desire to drive a car, so let’s compare the two seemingly remote situations: achieving success in driving and in business.

1.

If you buy yourself a car, it does not necessarily mean you are mobile. You can buy the whole car, accessories (for cleaning and polishing, cloths, hosepipe for washing etc.), rain-cover or even a garage. You still do not know HOW to drive.

If you buy a computer, a fax machine, office furniture, stationary etc. it does not mean that you have built a business. You have equipped yourself well and have all the necessary tools to communicate with others (prospective clients, customers, suppliers). You still do not know HOW to run the business.

You can register your car, get number plates, insure it, and subscribe to any Automobile Association to help if the car brakes down. The problem stays the same: you CANNOT drive the vehicle.

If you list your business with the Registrar of Companies, get the necessary permission to trade, insure your equipment, find a good name for your enterprise, it does not mean that you now know HOW to run your business. Your company has become legal and that is all.

You can learn about how the car engine works, the dynamics of fuel combustion, physics of movement of the car, how the car was built, and what materials were used for construction. Does all this knowledge mean that you can drive the car?

The same applies to business: you can learn about import and export, how to advertise effectively, how to negotiate, how to present yourself and much more. All these aspects are important for the final shape of your business and determine what your business would look like, and how you communicate with others. You still do not know HOW to run your company, what lies at the bottom of its existence.

You can learn about traffic regulations, master the theory of the best maneuvers on the road in different situations, learn road signs etc. You can sit behind the wheel in a stationary vehicle, play with the indicators, wipers, lights, hooter, sunroof or seat adjustment. YOU STILL DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE THIS CAR.

The same applies to business: you may understand how the Internet works, how to calculate your tax, how to use computer software and design the most impressive letterhead. You can find the places where business people meet on the World Wide Web, send them a message and start receiving E-mails from all over the World. You can learn to operate your office equipment almost like... wipers, indicators, the hooter, lights etc. in the car. YOUR BUSINESS WILL NOT BECOME ACTIVE IN SPITE OF ALL THOSE MEASURES.

In the example of the car, the one who starts by learning how to drive will always win against the one who just WANTS to drive and knows everything which concerns motorization - except driving... . If you do not know how to drive, what is the sense of buying a car, and caring for it or learning about it?

What is the sense of having a company if you do not know HOW to run it, how to conduct business? Is it confusing? No, it is not - if you look at the problem from this angle: all the knowledge you already possess is valuable and can profit your business. Almost all beginners overlook the necessity of getting to know basic business logic - in other words how to run it, how to make it successful, or to put it simply, how to turn the ignition on and... DRIVE.

What is this business logic? Where do you find it? Is it a genetical attribute, something like talent, insight or business sense? No, it is not. It is knowledge. It can be acquired. Running a business requires some skills - like driving a car.

You choose: we will teach you how to make your business WORK, and then MOVING, finally BRINGING PROFITS. We will educate you on how to RUN it, just as a driving instructor would teach you how to drive a car. If you learn, then you are able to drive, leaving everybody else behind, regardless of any other knowledge they might have already possessed. They will still be STANDING while you are MOVING.
