Once you have created a web site, the next step is to generate an income from your site. This article outlines two ways to generate an income from your site.
#1: Sell a product/service
#2: Join an affiliate program
How to Sell a Product/Service from your Site:
The first way to produce an income from your site is to sell a product or service. However, what type of product or service should you sell? Here is a brief list of questions that should be answered when deciding on what type of products you should sell:
#1: Can I deliver the product/service over the Internet?
#2: If not, do I have a place to warehouse the products?
#3: If not, do I have a company to drop-ship the products to my customers?
Some of the newest Internet fortunes where made selling information over the web. These include how-to books, recipes, novels and articles. The best source for creating this information is you. Can you write a book on gardening or computer repair? If so, you can sell this over the Internet. To learn how to publish your books online- Click Here.
In addition to books you can sell products. If you do not want to or cannot warehouse thousands of products, check out our drop-ship directory. Join an Affiliate Program:
The second way to produce an income from your site is to join an affiliate program. There are several different ways to get paid from an affiliate program. (To learn more about affiliate programs - Click Here) I have included three for your review:
#1: Pay-per-click: This pays you every time someone clicks a link on your site to an advertiser. Typically, these can pay .01 to .3 per click.
#2: Pay-per-lead: Advertisers will pay you every time someone from your site completes a lead form. These programs can provide a high payout.
#3: Pay-per-sale: Advertisers will pay you a commission on every sale made from your site. These are usually the most profitable, if you have a product that can be sold over the Internet.
One of the biggest disadvantages of building a site based solely on affiliate programs is that it is very time consuming and once visitors leave your site to visit your affiliate they may never return.
