When you think of a leader or somebody who is well known in the Network Marketing industry, who do you think of? If you are like me it is probably the people who you read about in books and magazines or people who have written their own books about success in MLM. You probably sit there thinking, "Geez, if I ever made it big in this business I sure would like to do that. It would be great to have my name in the spotlight. I would be considered an expert."
Well, after some great visualization you then touch back with reality and realize you first have to become an expert before you can write like one. Well, listen to me, "YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE AN ALL KNOWING MLM EXPERT AND LEADER TO ACT LIKE ONE."
What do I mean? You might not know everything there is to know about this industry (because nobody knows everything, if they think they do then they already proved they don't) but I am sure there is one thing that you do have a good understanding of. Maybe you have a good prospecting idea that works, maybe your follow-up system has been doing great things for you, or maybe you have an idea you would like to share. So how do you help others by sharing this information? Get INVOLVED and get PUBLISHED!
Everybody reading this article already has what it takes to become an expert in some way. You have access to email, an understanding of the internet, and you are actively learning more about success in MLM. That is all it takes. Now all you have to do is write a short article on your great idea or technique on how to be more successful in Network Marketing. It does not have to be Earth shattering or New York Times best selling stuff. It just has to be from the heart and have one goal, to help others.
Why is this important and what is in it for you? First thing you are thinking is, "Why should I share this information with everybody?" Because this is your chance to get involved and become an expert.
Let me tell you a quick personal story. About 2 months ago I realized I needed to find a new company if I wanted to reach all of my long and short term goals I set for myself. With this in mind I embarked on a long, hard search for THE company (in my mind anyway.)
Where did I look first? NOT at some fancy advertisement. Instead, it was people I already knew because they got involved and were published. These were people that participated actively on discussion lists, wrote articles, and shared their secrets to their success.
Why did I first look at these people? Because they already knew the importance of sharing their knowledge and helping others. These are the type of people I would want, no, I would ONLY work with and haveas my sponsor; somebody who is helping others succeed.
Now back to you, by getting involved you could have been the person I, or anybody else, would have chosen. By showing your willingness to help others, even if you are not the most successful person (yet), you could attract success. It is as simple as, "people like people who help others."
Now back to my original point; hardly anybody understands this VERY powerful promotional tool. In this very newsletter last week I gave EVERYBODY a chance to "get involved." All you had to do was write a couple paragraphs about a great book you read that you think the readers of this e-zine would benefit from reading.
You could be an EXPERT on that book. Easy, simple, yet VERY effective.
I could write a review myself but I want to give my readers a chance first. I want you to have the chance to experience what it is like to *Help Others* and have an email box full of "thank you's."
There are MANY ways to practice this principle. First, everybody that is reading this article should, no needs, to subscribe to a discussion list for Network Marketers. I subscribe to about 20 and the best one hands down is moderated by my friend Tom Kulzer. Go to his website http://www.electsuccess.com and subscribe to the Electro MLM Discussion group.
Now a couple times a week you will receive a "digest" of all of the posts of people asking and answering questions, sharing ideas, and helping others.
Your job, if you choose to accept it, is to pick one post in that digest and reply to it offering your advice and HELP. This should not be because it will help you, instead do it to help THEM. Why? You are showing your willingness to help others and your ability as a leader. People WANT to work with leaders, if you act like one you might just become one. By doing this over time you will not only help a lot of people, but people will begin coming to you. Now that is powerful.
